Jesus is the Way, Truth, & Life(Jn.14:6). I'm just an unworthy recipient of His forgiveness. He took my penalty and gave me what He earned(2 Cor. 5:21).
The oldest man alive today was born in the city of Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago.
He died outside the city of Jerusalem when he was about 33 years old.
(And no, these two statements do not contradict one another.)
"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, βI am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.β (John 8:12)
"Whoever follows me..."
One more as a tribute to how God used this man to impact my life. The last of his sermons that I heard before his passing.

In light of his recent passing, here is another Voddie Baucham. This is a very important message because, even in Christian circles, we tend to think about decision-making in very un-Christian ways.

1/ I was surprised yesterday to hear of the sudden passing of Dr. Voddie Baucham. Though I met Voddie only a couple of times in person, there are few people whose sermons and lectures have impacted me more. When I used to work at a golf course, it was often Voddie's voice ringing
4/ other eyewitnesses. They tell us of supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies and claim to be divine rather than human in origin." (I typed that from memory just now).
Thank God for Voddie Baucham.
3/ I have listened to the message below repeatedly. When sharing why I believe the Bible, I usually repeat word-for-word Voddie's thesis statement from this message: "The Bible is a reliable collection of historical documents, written down by eyewitnesses, during the lifetime of

In honor of this great man of God and the way he was used to instruct me in the way of the Lord, I'm sharing this message that has impacted me and that I trust will also be of great benefit to you.
@SummrWrites If you haven't read it, you should read "An Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano." Fascinating story. Also a good writer. He writes a beautiful poem about his conversion to Christianity that takes up a whole chapter.
@conservmillen Thank you for writing "Toxic Empathy." It is so clear and helpful. I will be recommending it as widely as I can! Keep up the good work, sister!
Just finished. @conservmillen is right. "You can't be more loving than Jesus." Yet many well-meaning people are deceived here, tragically hurting more people than they're helping. Empathy is good... but much of what passes for empathy these days is insidiously evil & harmful.
This wasn't an easy conversation, but I am thankful for their willingness to share. May God use this to help many.

Just as Christ does not renovate sinners through the law, He does not build His Kingdom through social and political improvements. His Kingdom is not established by the law but by the power of gospel creating a new society out of those who have been born again!
A very sobering warning for our social media use.
"If anyone thinks he is religious without controlling his tongue, his religion is useless and he deceives himself." (James 1:26 CSB).
