@BennettAct3921@kingcal91@SimonWhelband ‘ based on population share of spending changes in England’. Scotland has a higher rate of income tax to pay for additional services. You are free to vote for the same
@BennettAct3921@kingcal91@SimonWhelband Scottish MPs can vote on ‘ English Issues’ because the funding or defunding of English services directly affects Scotland through the barnett formula
As a Scotsman, I find the obsessive hostility towards the English that some of my countrymen display deeply embarrassing. The fact that it's almost entirely one-sided makes it even more cringeworthy. They don't root against us like this; you're making us all look bitter and sad.
“I’m actually quite sympathetic to Andy Burnham’s comments about ‘being in hock’ to the bond markets…”
Mehreen Khan, Economics Editor of The Times, says the British public needs to be told that "bond vigilantes... limit democratic choices".

Some staggering doublethink/hypocrisy from well known radical right accounts on here
1) Turns out words do hurt and matter after all- many spent years telling us they didn’t and free speech should be absolute/ spent months defending Lucy Connolly for literally inciting violence.
2) That political violence/rhetoric is the sole preserve of the left despite all the evidence and real world events to the contrary.
3) That the accusation of fascism/far right behaviours is worse than the behaviours themselves. For example like lying about a “stolen election” and literally using violence to stop it.
4) That MAGA isn’t a divisive movement and never has been. Maga doesn’t like being called far right- fine. Will we have a moratorium on the use of “far left”? Will we stop hearing about how anyone who disagrees with them is about to presage the destruction of Western civilisation?
5) That cancellation is ok after all- something now being demanded of the Oxford Union president.
The most dangerous people in modern life are the social-media/tech oligarchs who enrich themselves by seeding and harvesting human rage, fear, jealousy and resentment.
The Lords of the Algorithms weaponized these platforms against us. They should be publicly shamed and shunned.
Nigel Farage writes this in an article tonight about Charlie Kirk’s horrifying murder - just days after he was hugging and hailing a woman at his party conference who urged people to set fire to hotels housing asylum seekers.
Racist graffiti on takeaways. Slurs on bus stops. A nurse racially abused in the park.
Every day the far right launch pogroms on hotels housing migrants, fuelled by grifters and amplified by the right-wing press.
This hate comes from the very top. But our communities will organise, resist and fight back. ¡No pasarán!
