@AdityaCursed As a funnier note if he went blind Himawari would've definitely cried and he'd have that buzzcut that Boruto was threatening him with at the beginning of the arc (amazing callback btw)
@AdityaCursed I think what helped me like it a little more is how some people mentioned it ties back to the themes of love going throughout TBV and directly rewards Inojin's resolve not only to protect the one he loves wholeheartedly but also for trusting in the person he loves to save him
@SimplyTroy2 That's also ignoring how the anime did just do some of those moments better. (Sarada's Chidori, Fleshing out Kawaki, etc.) Ikemoto just doesn't have the privelege of getting bailed out by an anime and writing team with months and years of foresight to make the story better.
@SimplyTroy2 I wouldn't even say it like that. The things people are getting on Ikemoto for writing wise (lack of consistency, skipping over important moments, pacing) are the same things Kodachi wasn't great at.
@SimplyTroy2 To put it into perspective Kodachi had 50 chapters to pay off anything that he was setting up and the best he could do was the vase storyline during the Kawaki arc.
@kin_joe8 I prefer the creativity of Ikemoto but I think Kodachi executed on certain moments better (even if the ideas themselves were somewhat boring)
@defensordboruto I think you could sneak it in. Those original arcs would HAVE to be great tbh or else people won't stop hating it. So far I could see some scenes being full on episodes (Chapter 5) but idk if the manga really left space for original content at least in TBV
On one hand, I genuinely believe the Mujina Bandits arc served zero purpose and was a glorified Momo Arc Epilogue.
On the other, the Mamushi Arc took all the momentum and good will from the Sand Mission Arc and shot it 57 times.
At least the Inojin parts were well written.
@Revoluti0on_@joao_dattebayo You're really gonna have to make sense with that. Since the first scene barely says much (the village can be rebuilt) Even with the context of the wider series OP isn't wrong its all reversible to some extent.
It's especially bad when most of the arc was spent trying to get us to understand Inojin's resolve and see his importance as a character. It didn't even need to last forever either but the fact that there was no real consequence just kinda kills an otherwise amazing conclusion
Its hard to be affected emotionally by something when nothing of consequence really happened in the grand scheme of things. Consequences affecting characters often help people grow more emotionally attached to them.
Whats funny is that the "consequence" they're mourning is Inojin going blind like you DO NOT GAF BRO ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
They like the idea of it because it realistically DOESN'T affect them emotionally.
A REAL Consequence would be Sasuke dying but the same complainers would HATE that lol.
@KazeB189 I feel like two things can be true. Was Inojin getting out with next to 0 consequence hurt what the arc was setting up for him narratively (yeah kinda) but ironically enough this is still the best chapter of 2026 and I wish we had more chapters like it.
@Shinkageryo Modulo is an Epilogue. Boruto is a whole other franchise. Not really an excuse but the scope causes different issues and expectations. Also Naruto fans slandered the Epilogue Portion of Boruto (Naruto the Movie) so no matter how good that was it generally hated
@AcpwFox98 Most of the time its the environment. Most of your coworkers and friends you've had for 5-10 years are still there and main roster pay is good compared to having to go on insane indie campaigns
@griizo2020 I don't necessarily think they're allowed to add details (clouds, leaf brush, etc) in the official. Aside from that they're pretty similar ngl.
