@padget_eric I think it’s a good idea for politicians to campaign. Or share their ideas, life story, policies, and beliefs, with the public and the media. Especially when in office and about to run for the most powerful position in the world. Agree to disagree.
@padget_eric Roosevelt and Wilson did as president. As congressmen and leaders of the Senate/House of Reps: Gore, Sanders, Warren, Klobuchar, Obama, Biden, Kamala, Schumer, McCain, Cruz, Rubio, etc. They can push their message but a VP can’t? And make hundreds of millions?
@RoKhanna Solve the budget crises. Stop printing money and corporate handouts. Return to free market capitalism. Put limits on the Fed. Penalize corruption with life imprisonment. Bring back glass-steagal and fix campaign finance. End dark money and foreign donations. Protect the borders.
@padget_eric Oh my god. Is governor of the the 3rd biggest economy about to run for president not enough? Kamala, Al Gore, and Pence did it while they were VP’s.
@WolfpackRobNC@mikebellamy81@lady_valor_07 Other taxes though. It’s only local govt that does this. State or Federal could send $ to local govts. 575B would need to be found. We could have ended it in the nineties when the Fed govt had a surplus of tax revenue. W/ what the Fed did for homeowners, it’s only fair though.
@Ridi_west_gv@jeremyct You mean supply elasticity which is in the short term. Housing being unusually constrained for a period doesn’t disprove market economics.
@SirBt@CWVincent13458@Heccles94 lol. That’s not too logical Considering he’s an immigrant and the public feud he had with MAGA over H1B visas. “I’d die on the cross for them.”
@Heccles94 Illegal immigration. Not legal. Are you guys always trying to deceptively mischaracterize the debate? Or do you just never listen to opposing views with honesty? Is it fear? Being stubborn? Trying to replace religion where your party must have all answers and are the “good ones”?
@unclebobmartin@famexbt I think all you people are just disconnected from the working class reality of today. And don’t understand what the Fed did to help you at the cost of those without capital and future generations. And how much and how fast so many things have changed. We didn’t get a free market.
@unclebobmartin@famexbt You only had to have 1 income and paid too much with your salary compared to others. You didn’t have to save for a down payment paying twice the rent(‘74-‘25)like most. You say no garage as if that’s a sacrifice to the generation that started the tiny home and van life craze?
@SMB_Attorney The homes aren’t the problem. My friend moved there and bought 5 homes as a preacher. But he said it’s dangerous. Detroit lost 2/3 of the population it once had. City went bankrupt in ‘13. Mass exodus of people/$/jobs when the auto industry collapsed. Crime is sky high. Poverty.
@WarMonitor3 The guy whose defense minister just resigned in protest over his administration’s lack of seriousness and support for the Russian threat to NATO?
@mtracey What about Gavin Newsom’s book this year and podcast last year? When has a politician not gone out campaigning and selling their administration’s ideas, when thinking of a higher office or wanting to stay in office? What about Schumer last year? Obama, Biden, McCain…..
@mtracey What?! Gavin Newsom released a book and started a podcast this year. Is it greed? Or stealth campaigning for president just like Vance. And selling their administrations and policy ideas to the public. Every incumbent does this when running for a higher office.
@unclebobmartin@famexbt Your numbers are flat wrong. ChatGPT says it took 2 years income in ‘75, but now 5 times to buy a home in NC. My bosses told me you could come off the street to push a wheelbarrow and buy a home, land, time to work the land, and support a wife/kids on 1 income.
@unclebobmartin@famexbt The Fed by buying 2 trillion in mortgage backed securities; the govt backing all mortgages; banks creating derivatives. Mass distortions in the market were created. Wages/home cost splintered. I found 1 home under 200k in the 3 cities closest to me. No more small builders, etc.
