I notice patterns…
“Here am I” is found throughout scripture.
Watch how often the prophets say it.
• Abraham “Behold, here I am”
Genesis 22:1
• Isaac “Here am I”
Genesis 27:18
• Jacob “Here am I”
Genesis 31:11
• Joseph “Here am I”
Genesis 37:13
Four generations.
The same answer.
Pattern of patriarchs. 👆
Pattern continues…
• Moses “Here am I”
Exodus 3:4
• Samuel “Here am I”
1 Samuel 3:4
• Isaiah “Here am I”
Isaiah 6:8
A pattern across centuries:
God calls.
His servants answer.
Now the most powerful example:
“Here am I, send me.” - Jehovah
Abraham 3:27
He set the pattern.
Ahead of tonight's matchup with BYU, Cincinnati would like to extend its gratitude to the @BYUCougars community and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their generosity. Their November donation was the largest in the history of the Bearcats Pantry.
@jmbrim3 I remember seeing this for the first time in the first transfer of my mission. I’ve always gone back to it when times are hard and without fail it gives me the strength to press on. One of my favorite videos!
This is an "I am grateful for President Eyring" post.
He has been in the first presidency for as long as I can remember General Conference's.
I am grateful for his steadiness.
For his love of Jesus & love for us.
He is a spiritual giant who speaks with true compassion.
A mob butchered Amanda Smith's husband at Hawn's Mill. After watching others leave the faith later, she said:
"I felt the loss of my husband, but not [as much] as I should if he had apostatized."
I hope to develop this sister's amazing eternal perspective and faith one day.
Elder Gong was at BYU on Saturday handing out ice cream to visitors.
Elder Rasband traveled to Florida and was with the basketball team last week.
Elder Anderson was at the BYU game on Saturday as well.
President Oaks and President Holland recently released a video talking about BYU athletics.
I think it's clear. Go argue with them.
I got done trying to teach my children things we could do every day to show that we follow Jesus.
They were absolutely horrendous—I’d ask a question and they weren’t listening.
I was so frustrated and annoyed.
Then my wife asked me, “Did you see the video I sent you today?”
i’m in awe of the BYU experience. today alone, both kalani sitake and brian santiago came up just to offer a hug and an unexpected thank you.
that’s hospitality you don’t find elsewhere. this place is special. i hope cougars fans know how rare your atmosphere is. chills.
People calling Joseph Smith a fraud is ridiculous.
A fraud?
Even if you ignore the impossible doctrinal connections between the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and ancient scripture.
You think a conman gets ripped from his bed by a mob in the middle of the night...beaten, tarred, feathered in the freezing dark....his baby catching cold and dying because of it, and he keeps going?
You think a liar buries his child, wipes the blood off his face, and preaches forgiveness to the men who just tried to kill him?
You think a fraud rebuilds after being driven from city to city; every home burned, facing betrayal, violence, threats to his friends and families?
He was jailed, starved, slandered, beaten, shot at, hunted by governors. He didn’t get rich. He didn’t get comfort.
He got exile, bullets, and a martyr’s death beside his brother.
Who does that for a scam? Who endures all of that for a lie?
Joseph was a Prophet of God.
"I'm glad for this opportunity to testify that I know the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness is in the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." — President @OaksDallinH
@dryflyelk Congrats! I just got back from the Vancouver mission! He probably knew I couple elders that we helped teach them like elder Beck and Elder Eldredge!
Today is the birthday of my wonderful wife, Kristen. How I love her and how grateful I am for our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness for our families. Our relationship to God and the purpose of our mortal life are explained in terms of the family.
