@cheddachaz Fair, if they do make a move like that, positives are it gets you a top 10 pick this year where you have solid 2-way prospects like Burries and Carr, and you get a bridge stretch big for a couple years. I can’t find any Herb trades that got the Pels into the Carr/Burries range
Do the Bucks make this move? Pels currently own the best 2027 pick of their own and Mil, which could very well be a top 5 pick next year. Mil would receive that and also clear 30 mill off of their books going forward with Jordan Poole’s expiring contract. Seems like a W
@thesoulman57 I’m coming around to the idea that if you have 2 bigs that can get 19 combined, you don’t need a 12 rpg center. Also, funny enough, DQ finished top 20 in rebound % in his rookie season, may be an anomaly, but the best way to maximize him and Zion together is with a spacer
@cheddachaz I can see the pros for the cap and the player sides. Herb is probably the best bargaining chip you have if you don’t want to break up Trey, Z, Queen and Fears. I think any Herb deal has to give you a good to great rebounder and someone competent offensively. Idk about Stew at 6’8
Likely/probably nothing, but the market increased for Darvin Ham to be the next Pelicans head coach. Increased from 18% to 26% yesterday. Holding steady at 26%
@thesoulman57 2 seasons winning less than 30 games, we’ve been living in the dark ages. 😂 and honestly I don’t see that changing based on the coaching hire. We’re probably in for another 3 years of playoff-less basketball unless Joe and Troy work some miracles
@thesoulman57 I don’t think he takes the job. You’d have to imagine he needs a break after all of the Orlando mess, and he’s still being paid by the Magic for 2 more years. I believe that money is no longer owed to him if he gets another head coaching gig. Coach for less vs sit and collect ⚖️
@just_adavis Even aside from where they were drafted, they’re the only guys on the team under 27 that have a knack for creating space. With that skill, I just see an easier path for them to be overall more impactful players
@just_adavis Based on just the players listed, I hope 3-4. Really need him and Queen to make a leap, Zion too if the team is serious about continuing to build around him. I view those 3 as the wild card talents. Trey, Bey, and DJM are who they are, solid players who can thrive in their roles
