EF2/115mph Tornado (Town of Fayette) & EF1/95mph Tornado (Waterloo-Seneca Falls) confirmed along with intense downbursts from the high-end severe storms Wednesday. More details on our Public Information Statement: https://t.co/N6B9PMgVL1 #nywx#tornado
Another Cme lifts off away from earth. We are getting a teeny tiny bit closer though, need about three-four more days for this region to be in striking distance
Can big things come from small packages? As trans-equatorial Coronal Hole 91(positive) crosses central meridian, it's CH HSS CIR should arrive by September 07, 2024. It may be small but it's stream might me mighty, I have seen kP 6 conditions from holes this small.....
Ah so that I was right it was basically a 1 scan tornado by Medina. That picked up a lot of stuff in that 1.2 mile path. But it all fell out 2 scans later on CC.
A lot of pain and an ounce of hope in the latest HUXt model update. The east limb gets absolutely nuked with a barrage of CMEs.
However, HUXt indicates we’re very likely to see the arrival of a small CME (85.6%) in about three days, combined with a 500km/s CH stream. G1 possible
@JeremyCruzWX It was a bit disappointing seeing a radar signature like that so close and not getting a single glimpse. I think the visibility (lack of) of tornadoes is the only real knock on those storms. Everything else was perfect👌
I’ve only been on a few storm chases in my life. Being positioned on a supercell in front of a massive RFD and inflow notch was not something I ever thought I’d get to have my first experience of in the northeast, given the rarity of this kind of event and how rarely I chase.
@JeremyCruzWX Don’t know how that isn’t warned, what are they doing!!??? Doesn’t look like it’ll last long though since the inflow is really blocked by that secondary supercell just south of it, but maybe we’ll get a merger and it’ll reform
Some final edits on that outrageous mothership in Medina, NY.
Two tornadoes confirmed. I have learned that one tornado was ongoing two miles away in the 3rd photo, likely behind the corn on the right. I've tried to contrast enhance it but not seeing anything convincing. #nywx
