Today I became an American citizen 🇺🇸
11 years ago, I arrived in the U.S. alone with $200 in my pocket.
Today, I have an incredible wife, 2 amazing kids, a home, and I'm the CEO of an Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company.
Here's my American Dream story:
Being an aesthetic influencer has got to be exhausting. Imagine living your whole life with everything around you having to be "on-brand" at all times.
@realEstateTrent Met a guy at a country club who is retired and trades a large portfolio of his own. He wakes up, goes to the clubhouse for coffee and scrolls X on his tablet to find trading and investment ideas. Never posted once. He might be reading this lol
Brazilians are revolting against betting companies. Any posts even remotely associated or sponsored by betting companies receive criticism. Way more than in the US or other countries. It's a huge issue there and very interesting to see it unfold.
Waiting for AI to finish working is a totally new behavior we have to now learn. So easy to click away and get lost in other tabs. Especially if you're working on heavy projects like design / apps / stuff that takes AI a while to produce. What do you do to avoid that?
@pitdesi I lived in a small wealthy town in FL , and a few years in we learned we were one of the only parents actually paying for their kids private school tuition. Nearly everyone else’s was paid by the grandparents. Also big purchases like home down payments, country club fees etc.
@coreyganim@nickvasiles Does the “buy an audit” angle really work on its own or are you packaging it some other way to show the benefit? Personally, I don’t like audits. Would rather make a small progress towards a low hanging fruit than to just get a report.
@herrmanndigital Yep - also, people are procrastinating with huge reports and action plans. I’m rather move a project one inch forward right now than have a 100 page slop report on what is going to be done in the future.
Now that it's easier than ever to create things... the winners will be the ones who communicate the best. Hooks, storytelling, relationship building. Never a better time to get really good at marketing and sales.
As a former competitive tennis player... Nadal is a beast obviously, but I don't think this level of warming up means "match is won before it even started". For some players, the best matches happen when they're relaxed and in flow, and warming up like that seconds before the match can be neurotic and actually make you more tense. It works for Nadal, but it doesn't really say anything in general. I've seen dudes show up without a warm up, just 1 racquet in hand, and crush a neurotic warm up guy.
I agree and love not having to manage a ton of stuff. That being said, home renting being better than buying, to me only applies if you live in big cities. In smaller towns, there’s just no rental market for large family homes. You’ll end up with an emotional landlord who wants to sell their home after 12-24 months and you’re renting in some odd period in between. Not feasible to constantly be at the whims of how your landlord feels and risk getting your family displaced. In large metro areas there are homes that are just meant to be rented out and you can keep renewing every year.
Why would anyone expect world records at the Enhanced Games? Of course the best swimmer of all times with no PEDs is faster than a retired swimmer who takes it.
A friend recently mailed me a book and it reminded me how awesome it is when people send books to each other.
Receiving a physical book in the mail feels surprisingly meaningful. Extra points if there’s a handwritten note inside.
Solo dad duty today. 3 kids (8, 5 and 1). Conclusion: going to work and sending emails is way easier than caring for multiple kids all day. Mentally, physically… absolutely exhausting. And not even a thank you. Told him good night and the 1 yr old just slapped me in the face.
