Think the compact EV price wars are over? We sampled the compact Chery Q at the brand's Wuhu, China, test facility earlier this week.

Confirmed to go head-to-head with the Geely E2 and BYD Dolphin Surf by Q3 this year, the #CheryQ will likely carry either a 29.4-kWh battery with 50 kW and 90 Nm (310-km range), or a 41.2-kWh cell that's good for 90 kW and 115 Nm (420-km range).

Although #Chery hasn't confirmed pricing yet, it's likely to be similarly priced, or undercut at least one of its two main rivals.

Expected onboard tech includes up to a 15.6" infotainment screen, an electric tailgate, a 540-degree surround camera, park sensors, powered front seats, keyless entry, and a significant ADAS suite.

During testing, the Chery Q impressed with linear acceleration, loads of space, and solid build quality.
