How have the lakes in the area along the Catawba been doing sicne our recent rains? Here's a look at their levels compared to the past years. Some great recovery, but the lower lake near Charlotte is still very low, but trending up. #cltwx#ncwx#scwx#wcnc#lakelevels
@MsHatcher17 🤩 Wow! This a stunning, Ms. Hatcher! Those QR codes are brilliant. Am going to share next week in class, but you (and students) may be interested in exploring the 2022 Latinx Kid Book Festival site. Events start soon! https://t.co/Li4b3dpgeL
@MsHatcher17 @sHood125 Was there a specific poem that seemed to really catch their attention/interest? Excited to see what kind of ACTION your students will take! :-)
@MsHatcher17@PatriciaPolacco Thanks for highlighting children's voices here, Ms. Hatcher! We can learn so much from how children respond to and make sense of books.
@AmburnWhitley Whitley, I love this idea of inviting others to share classroom ideas at the end of your Tweet. It creates opportunities for conversations with other educators.
@_MsCori_ Your are threading tweets, Cori! Nice work. Next step in your Twitter journey is to consider how to develop content/sentences in Tweets that convey insights and share resources to/with readers.
@candace_ms@YamileSMendez@jaimekimil Thanks for reposting this, Candace! It's such an important book to make other educators aware of as they begin to build community at the beginning of the school year.
@mslannaharris What a cool idea to use a wordless ending to inspire the development of descriptive endings and support children (and adults!) in thinking through what readers need/want from the end of a story. I’m inspired to find other wordless endings. :)
A5 (I'm slow): Meant to throw out idea of "critical play" (Campano et al., 2016) when thinking about new generative frames for research for play and making. Piece also addresses issues of equity and access (A7). https://t.co/3cpBdHmuNZ #literacies
Q6: One 'practical' dilemma we had in K/1 site was what to do with all of the STUFF. Classrooms are often large enough to hold still bodies, and when young children are 'making' with paper, teachers (& researchers) can feel overwhelmed with where to keep it all. #literacies
Certainly alphabetic print plays a significant role in my scholarly life, but GIFs have come to play a surprising role too... that affective surge of humor, delight, joy, surprise in the midst of a busy day. #literacies
Q5: Been reading a lot of Massey lately, thinking about the role of my own digital literacy practices in producing a more human space in which to work (and live) in community with other scholars. #literacies
