@ReluctantStokey@thetimes My mum’s care home is over £9k a month and I can see where every penny goes. It’s like living in a 4* hotel with amazing staff. All who are paid above minimum wage. We need a full review especially now we’re all likely to live longer and need the same care ourselves.
This is the article/thread from which Reform have taken the single quote ‘Black lives do matter’ - despite the piece explicitly and bravely arguing against the excesses of peak woke. Its use to smear Kemi as a hypocrite is fundamentally dishonest.
@cazjwheeler It doesn’t matter if they are disappearing. They should share them with their private offices so they can keep a record. James Cleverly has already said that’s what he did when he was an SoS.
@stuey_beef Mandelson didn’t stroll into public life, he’s been there 30+ years. Ok he hasn’t been that visible for a few of those but he’s always been there. That’s how he ended up as UK’s US Ambassador.
@CrewkerneMan@Rik_w2010@reformparty_uk We shouldn’t work with anyone. We need to keep going as we are, plowing our own furrow. We will get there in the end. Anything else is political suicide.
@DPJHodges@SandyofSuffolk I am always interested in what you say but it’s largely for the Westminster bubble. & I know you know that too. You are right that no one in Makerfield is going to vote on the basis of what you, or any other Westminster/London journo says, they won’t even see it. But keep going!
@jessicaelgot I don’t think there were thoughts. Mandelson wanted it, used MM & Doyle to push for it. Suspect there was a verbal discussion where KS said yes fine and then MM put the wheels in motion. Don’t think KS thought any more about it.

@nw_nicholas Farage is getting what you call an easy ride as no one can pin anything on him. The Guardian, rightly, aren’t revealing their sources. Until the Parliamentary authorities pass to the EC there’s nothing to report on. Let’s see what happens with Habib, if the suing actually happens
Didn't Mandelson ask for half a million compensation for his sacking 'because it ruined his future employability'? Because in the Lammy letter he says it is his final job. Revealing of character.
@DrBrexit Remind me again how old he is? That half million was pure greed (a quality he has had for decades as we know). He should have been told to bugger off. And take them to court if he thought he had a case. The fact they thought they’d done well to negotiate that speaks volumes.
