I want to address the antisemitism issue and why I often address it. Some say we should quit talking about it because it distracts from our fight against the left but I disagree. A cancer from within will destroy us more efficiently than the left ever could, just like heresies in the early church could have destroyed the Gospel in its inception, which is why the Apostle Paul directed so much of his attention to fighting heresies and instructed us to do so throughout the ages in his epistles.

If prominent influencers hadn't become foot soldiers for this pernicious cause, we wouldn't have to fight it all. After all, we were told after WWII and the Holocaust, "Never again."

Students of the Bible and of human nature understand that given our fallen humanity in a fallen world, in which the prince of darkness has inordinate influence and control, "never again" is not a guarantee, and people of faith in every generation are called to aggressively combat antisemitism and all racism, because in the absence of opposition it will reign, if not prevail.

The Bible also tells us over and over, especially in the stories of the Old Testament, that believers tend to forget the wonderful blessings God has given them, which is one reason God reminded His people with trials and suffering. We will experience mountains, but those are often followed by valleys, so we are called on "to remember" what God has done for us. Don't get intoxicated on the mountain top, because valleys, at some point, will surely follow; such is the human condition.

These recorded Old Testament stories, as Paul repeatedly reminds us in the New Testament, are also for our instruction as believers. He is telling us that human beings have a natural inclination to forget, to take God's blessings and deliverances for granted, and so we must always remember what he's done for us. (I recently heard a great Bible podcast on this very subject).

"Never again," was not a guarantee. It was an emphatic statement that should serve as an eternal reminder never to let this type of unspeakable racism, persecution, and genocide happen again. But it is not a self-perpetuating statement. And we are honor bound to perpetuate it ourselves and to carry the torch against this evil presently and to instruct younger generations to continue to carry the torch.

So not only am I not moved by complaints that aggressively addressing antisemitism on the right distracts our fight against the left, which it does not; I know that antisemitism is a poisonous, satanic phenomenon, that must be vigorously opposed now, lest we lose our very soul as a people and as a nation.

That antisemitism has been with us for millennia despite its indefensibility -- the fact that it has been an indefatigable global phenomenon leads me, along with other things, to conclude that it is an enduring evil. The fact that this is the one kind of racism that people don't even hide or feel guilty about tells me that the opponents of God are behind it -- as if I didn't already know that.

If you're not aware, many people are stoking conspiracy theories and abject hatred against the Jews and Israel and such demonic thinking is becoming pervasive in some circles, so I repeat: even apart from politics -- and I don't really think you need to separate these overlapping, interconnected categories -- we must fight this unconscionable evil lest we lose our collective soul.
