Watched a Hampton Court doc last night that said Historic Royal Palaces (6 sites) employ 30 conservation specialists.

Birmingham has less than 1/30th of the capacity to protect heritage for an ENTIRE CITY with 100x the history.

Before Covid Birmingham Council had EIGHT conservation officers. Today Birmingham Council has ONE. And they’re part-time.

Is it any wonder the historic Electric Cinema, The Crown or Methodist Central Hall all sit rotting? Or selfish ‘developers’ can destroy city treasures?

Quite right to honour Ozzy. Now maybe @BhamCtyCouncil can take steps to protect Station Street from unwanted redevelopment and save The Crown. That WOULD be honouring Ozzy's legacy.

I hope journalists - and the rest of us - are currently taking note of which local politicians are very quickly issuing their stock condolence tweets today who have never expressed any interest or desire to campaign to save the Crown.
