First Christmas as a nurse ☑️ I worked 3 nights finishing on Christmas Day morning! It was a privilege to take care of those who weren’t as lucky as me to go home on Christmas morning♥️ I hope we made their stay a little better with our silly outfits and presents to wake up to🎅
My lovely friend Sammie is fundraising for an extremely important cause. Check out their @JustGiving page and please donate if you can 🏃🏼♀️🩷 #JustGiving https://t.co/zUqlLGKybE
This time last year I was really struggling on placement (crying in the sluice kind of stuff) and my confidence was at an all time low. Yesterday, on my current placement, my ward manager said that I’m like a qualified nurse already. There’s no better feeling in the world💖
I’m the kind of person who starts an assignment way too late, cries about it, realises that she actually really enjoys it, and then wishes she started it earlier. Every. Damn. Time. Never in a million years did I think that I could achieve this. So proud of myself!
For 18 months I’ve been set on being a district nurse when I qualify. Just completed a 10 week placement on a community ward and LOVED it. Convinced myself I would go onto a ward. 3 days into my optional placement with the DNs and I bloody love it. What to do 🥲🥲🥲
@louisaforbes_ What would help in the future would be to work with a nurse closely for the whole day, to really follow their journey. I love working will all members of the team, and we are stretched so I will always help out. However, I believe it would give me a better idea of a nurses day😊
Yesterday I was “nurse in charge” on placement (supervised, of course), and I absolutely loved it! I had great feedback from the nurses and fellow students, and I actually felt like a real nurse 😃
@louisaforbes_ The nurse who I worked with was supportive, and allowed me to be independent. However, I think some substantive members of the team did not take my role seriously which was a challenge, so I just tried my best to communicate with them throughout the day incase I missed anything.
