Totally this!
Writers/artists/creatives: you have to believe in your own work and your unique self x 1000! Not only to affirm the VALUE of your voice, but to drown out the mob of naysayers.
Self-deprecation of your work and yourself undermines everything that you are!
Finished this novel last week. As expected, @FondaJLee does it again. Put this on your radar, y'all!
"The Last Contract of Isako is the greatest sci-fi standalone novel I've ever read... This is cinematic cyberpunk samurai at its best."
ICYMI - Richard Swan's THE SCOUR is now available in audio thanks to @podium_ent and @philbattley .
Check out the sample and see if you can stop yourself tucking on a cloak and joining Vonvalt and Bressinger in investigating the imprisonment of a fellow Justice.
“A bad king revels in his importance. A good one hates his office. He spends himself into infirmity quashing deadly little plots to make power the tool of the greedy.
Procrastinating by talking about my work instead of actually doing it... I've finally started the laborious and painstaking work of processing all the (thousands) of line edits to "Anaximenes," from the extremely talented editor Kate Wood. I'm on page 2 of 564. Such progress!! I look at it like this: even if I can only get through 5 or 6 pages a day, I'll be done in 100 days. I got this!!
A note on this series: Many of my readers like this series the best out of all of my books. It is science-fantasy, epic and sprawling, brutal and graphic at times. I'm not sure if it's more grimdark or hope-punk. It is certainly addictive. As the series progresses, it crosses more into the fantasy genre, as the sibling protagonists become more adept with their shamanic powers.
"Moon Deeds" was a SPFBO semi-finalist and has won multiple awards. (Moon Deeds refers to deeds to land on the moon.) "Anaximenes" wraps up the "Moon Deeds" trilogy. The series will continue with another arc, starting with "Muria."
"Anaximenes" should be out summer of 2026. Or thereabouts...
Our next YouTube video is currently in editing, starring Al Barclay (Slow Horses, Deep Cover, The Crown) reading @aptshadow 's short story THE FACE OF THE KING.
