Life has put a serious cramp on my twitter presence, but I'm back to ask former students to help me advertise my Geographies of Religion class. I can only teach it every other year, and it is an amazing experience every time I do. @geographyunc
In case you missed it, be sure to check out UNC's #TwitterTakeover yesterday highlighting #DecolonizeUNC. Important enough for me to log back into 'the twitter'...Many thanks @ListerMajerle
Huge thanks to @geographyunc grad student Majerle Lister (@ListerMajerle) for yesterday's #TwitterTakeover, covering the #DecolonizeUNC rally and much more! Keep an eye out for future takeovers 📱👀
Ethics of care, youth, and racial geopolitics in the US at the turn of the 20th century, viewed through an unexpected story of women in public health. It's my attempt to historicize discussions of young carers and challenge our time/space framings: https://t.co/WCUnwBIHNb
This is work that we have done in the Geog_803 Humans and Climate change seminar @geographyunc with @clarklgray Direct link to poster here --> https://t.co/rImFTPg1Lb
This must be not only discussed, but acted upon. And it should be up to those of us in secure positions and with all the privileges we are afforded to shoulder this burden.
(1). On #CaregiverDay I want to share some facts on #youngcarers from my research over the years. 1. In Canada, 15-24year olds represent the 3rd largest caregiver cohort (1.25 million). Factoring in all those ch/youth >15 yrs of age, the figure is likely closer to 2 million.
Professor Andrew Curley and colleagues changing geography one meeting - and class, publication, research project, community engagement - at a time. @geographyunc @wahgraphy
