Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful comments about Martin. The cause of death was a heart attack. As a family, we're struggling to comprehend everything. He was my Martin and the world is a much sadder place without him. Michaela Matthews.

There are thousands of other chairs across England who will be thinking the same Matthew. @ngamedia had so much feedback from boards at the end of the summer term about their concern for the wellbeing of school leaders who'd been non-stop. We shared this with DfE numerous times.
