I heard a story about a woman who used to send her mother money every month.

Not because her mother asked, but because she genuinely wanted to make life easier for her.

One month, business was bad. She couldn’t send anything.

Her mother called.

“Is everything okay?”

She said, “Mummy, things are a bit tight this month. I’ll send something when I can.”

Her mother simply said, “No problem, my daughter. Take care of yourself.”

That same evening, the woman received a transfer.

It was from her mother.

She called immediately.

“Mummy, what is this?”

Her mother laughed and said,

“You think because you are my child, I don’t worry about you too?”

That sentence broke her.

Because sometimes, as adults, we get so caught up in being the ones who provide that we forget our parents still see the little child they raised.

And sometimes, the people we think we’re taking care of are quietly praying for us too.
Call your parents. Check on your siblings. Ask how your people are really doing.
