Had a big win, actually - the world Premiere of my narrative feature debut at BFI Flare London LGBTQ Film Festival, the biggest LGBTQ film festival in Europe. A groundbreaking achievement for Nigerian queer cinema. #ìféthesequel
Finally getting @BFIFlare reviews out!
First, opening night film Hunky Jesus. Never thought we’d get audiences cheering and whooping at a documentary.

A lovely end to @BFIFlare with the closing film, the very funny & sweet coming of age film from South Africa, Black Burns Fast.
Been an enjoyable festival even though I only managed to catch 9 films.
This is in my Top 3 though along with Montreal my Beautiful & Lady Champagne.
today i stumbled back into BFI Flare to see Miss Carbón 👑

On Monday, the HDT team attended the world premiere of Out Laws at Europe's biggest and longest-running LGBT+ film festival @BFIFlare.
This powerful film takes viewers on a global journey, uncovering the colonial roots of criminalisation of LGBT+ people whilst shining a light on our fearless partners @friedeldausab, Rosanna Flamer-Caldera and Raven Gill, who are challenging the very laws meant to silence them.
The film received a standing ovation from the entire auditorium 👏. Huge congrats to our friends and filmmakers James Lewis of The Good Side and @lexipowner for making such an important film and for being consummate storytellers.
There are still tickets available for Saturday morning’s screening so don’t miss it https://t.co/qocPfLVKgx
What a ludicrous, mad and fantastic film that this film is...@madfabulousfilm - crazy performances and @rufus200 just, wow!
@BFIFlare - we salute you. And, to Celyn Jones and Lisa Baker [writer]...you brought joy [and madness] to the screen.
What a highlight.
2 years ago, Joan Chen starred in my favourite film of the year, Dìdi. In 2026, she’s done it again in #MontrealMyBeautiful, a sapphic Chinese immigrant story set in Canada. Joan Chen is perfect throughout, aching with passion and yearning in the face of quiet suffering @BFIFlare
I doubt if I'll see a better film @BFIFlare this year than Montreal my Beautiful.
Never has a film title been so correct. Its a beautiful & tender love story about an elderly Chinese woman dealing with her identity with dashings of humour & Sadness combined.
Tears will be shed!
#FILM#REVIEW Can't Go Over It @BFIFlare 'actors Susannah Perkins and Taylor Trensch bring such likability to their characters that we are happy to fall in step with them' ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ https://t.co/wGrgCAdLZM
