Around 20 babies and toddlers were trapped inside a nursery as smoke from a fire began filling the building.

Newlyweds David Squillante and Doran Smith were on their honeymoon in Barcelona when they saw women running from the building. David rushed inside and discovered a nursery filled with children, some just newborns.

There were too many to carry out one at a time, so David and the workers loaded several into rolling cribs and pushed them toward the exit as the smoke spread.

Outside, Doran and other strangers moved the children across the street while David kept going back inside for more. They didn’t even speak the same language, but everyone knew what needed to happen.

Roughly 10 minutes later, every single child was safely out.

Once firefighters arrived, David and Doran simply continued on to the sightseeing tour they’d been heading to.

They went to Barcelona for their honeymoon and ended up helping rescue a nursery full of children. I think that’s a honeymoon story worth sharing.
