@Zia_NGBB (My math was a bit off) I meant to say, you could easily inherit 70% darker-skinned genes (50 from mom, 20 from dad), while your full-blood sibling gets 90% light-skinned genes (40 from mom, 50 from dad). The point is, you don't inherit an exact 30/20 from mom or 40/10 from dad.

@Zia_NGBB That's an oversimplification, but it's to say: you don't inherit everything that your parents have right down the middle, including the numerous genes for eye, skin, and hair color. What you have comes 50% from each parent, but not necessarily in equal proportions of their genes.
