Norman Lear had such a twinkle in his eye. He really drew you in with his charm and brilliance. Not only did he redefine television, he used every bit of influence he had to be a champion for democracy.
RIP Norman Lear. If his shows hit the airwaves today, millions of the worst people in the country would be whining about them being "too woke," and that's exactly what made those shows so great and, strangely, both timely and timeless. 101 years old. Damn, what a life.
