Jalen Brunson admits he still calls his parents before making any big purchase
Brunson: “To this day, I know it’s crazy, if I feel like I’m making a big purchase, I’m going to call my parents. I’ll say, “What do you think about this?”
Host: “You’re a grown man, you can do what you want”
Brunson: “Yeah, but I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. I still give myself those checks, because it’s important to have this for as long as I can, and for my future generations”
Vin Baker says working at Starbucks after making $100,000,000 in the NBA became one of the best years of his life
“So many articles came out saying, ‘NBA player made $100 million, now working at Starbucks.’”
“To be perfectly honest, it was one of the best years of my life.”
“I was happy that I was sober.”
“I was waking up every morning not needing alcohol or drugs.”
“I was actually doing the job.”
“I’d close the store at 11:30 at night and be back at 4 in the morning to open it.”
“It disciplined me.”
“Going from an All-NBA player to being a Starbucks manager takes a level of humility.”
From the moment I saw we signed multiple 7+ foot guys to the SL roster, I was so thrilled.
It took a summer league experience for the team to (hopefully) realize the importance of size and interior presence. Project 6’7-‘9 can only take you so far.
The priority needs to be to get healthy 7ft+ guys on the roster, once the Kawhi trade hopefully processes.
You add size to the roster, sky is the limit for this Raptors team.
The goal is to build a home that reflects Christ, not just in what we say, but in how we love, forgive, serve, communicate, and raise the next generation. To make Christ truly the center of everything we are and everything we do.❤️
You may not think God isn’t real
Because he’s been quiet
But a teacher remains quiet during the test
They didn’t leave the room
But they taught you everything you needed to know
Maybe God isn’t absent
But the silence means the test begun.
Joe Smith (who was part of an infamous cap circumvention case involving the Minnesota Timberwolves back in 2000) on the stalled Clippers-Raptors Kawhi Leonard trade:
“They can do that? Wow. Even though the Clippers dumped him off on them like that?”
“At least they didn’t let the trade go through and then try to penalize the Raptors after the fact. I think that’s smart.”
“I don’t think the Raptors should have to pay for somebody else’s fault. That is all on the Clippers and whatever deal they made with Kawhi.”
“It wouldn’t be fair for Toronto to inherit that debt or face whatever penalties the Clippers are up against.”
“So, holding the trade until the investigation is over is the right move. Once it’s wrapped up, they can make their decisions based on the findings.”

I’ve been seeing a lot of people say, “Don’t let your child be the only Black person in the friend group.”
But then I think about her (Shanquella Robinson).
She wasn’t alone. She was with people she considered friends.
To me, the lesson isn’t to fear one race over another.
The lesson is that evil doesn’t have a race.
That’s why I think we need to spend less time teaching our children what people to fear and more time teaching them discernment. Teach them to trust their gut. Teach them they can leave any situation that doesn’t feel right. Teach them that being polite is never more important than being safe.
Because sometimes the greatest danger is the person you thought you could trust.
Justice for Shanquella Robinson.
Justice for Nolan Wells. 🕊️
All of these people went on trips, trusted or caught a ride with white people and never returned home. Stop telling black ppl that “everything isn’t about race” when it comes to Nolan Wells. Even Jesus HIGHLY prioritized discernment. Yall harass black ppl on this app daily. You put a racist in the highest office. Karmelo Anthony is a “Watermelon” felon.. You mock Trayvon Martin and countless other black babies. Even the one year old that was shot by police is shown no mercy. Stop calling us racist for noticing a 250 yr pattern. Justice for all of the people you see below. Rest in Peace #NolanWells
