Remembering Syed Shujaat Bukhari on his 8th martyrdom anniversary. A credible, compassionate and courageous voice in journalism, one which remained deeply connected to the aspirations, concerns and dignity of his people till the end. Through reason and dialogue he sought to build understanding in times of uncertainty and conflict.
May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and may his life continue to inspire those who believe in truth, justice and peace.
Remembering my late uncle, Shaheed-e-Masjid Moulvi Mushtaq Ahmad, on his 22nd martyrdom anniversary, and paying rich tributes to him. A senior AAC leader, a man of immense compassion, humility and public service, he dedicated his life to helping the poor and working for the people.
A firm believer in peace, conciliation and dialogue, he ultimately paid with his life for those beliefs when he was assassinated while offering namaz in a mosque. Having also endured years of imprisonment alongside Shaheed-e-Millat Moulvi Muhammad Farooq Sahab, he remained steadfast in his convictions till his martyrdom.
After Shaheed-e-Millat’s martyrdom, he stood by me like a rock. His loss remains deeply personal and he will always be remembered with love, respect and gratitude.
@jstbengmyslf It is window dressing only to portray people they are committed when u extensively research there lives u will b shocked by seeing there darkest side ... Epestin files is prime example
Heartbroken and deeply disturbed by the tragic death of a 12-year-old girl in Budgam, who went missing while on her way to the Darsgah. The circumstances surrounding this incident are extremely painful and have shaken the conscience of every human being.
What are we becoming as a society if our children cannot even feel safe on their way to seek education and guidance? Such incidents spread fear, grief and deep anxiety among people and demand serious introspection at every level.
A thorough, transparent and time-bound investigation must be carried out, and those responsible for this heinous act must be brought to justice and given the strictest punishment under law.
May Allah grant the innocent child the highest place in Jannah and give patience and strength to her grieving family.

Very disturbing news of large scale demolition and displacement of the tribal Gujjar Bakerwal community in Jammu’s Sidra area by the authorities, rendering them homeless! Selective targeting of communities under the garb of law enforcement -reportedly filing FIR against mourners in Kulgam at the funeral of former Jamaat-e-Islami chief and Islamic scholar Sheikh Ghulam Hassan or targeting of nomads and tribals in jammu on the basis of religion without any humanitarian consideration, is weaponisation of law. It vitiates the atmosphere, furthering mistrust .Rulers who claim well being and development of Jammu Kashmir should introspect as to where they want to take jammu Kashmir by such policies.
