@elizabethminkel Never mind the debate of liking or not liking y/n. Imagine the horror of an AI trained on fanfiction, and not just the nicely curated set we each personally like. And then image what it would say to you.
If you can look at this chart of life expectancy falling on every continent on Earth and still convince yourself covid was overblown, that's your brain on coping mechanism mode
There’s no nice way to put this but anyone who sincerely thinks that text generators will perform emotional intelligence because fiction has primed them to overestimate the abilities of “artificial intelligence” is a profoundly stupid person.
@DragonstormCA @UmbaDaima@Coelasquid Well said! AI is not supposed to do labor people would like to do. Its supposed to replace work we cannot or do not want to do. Not wanting to pay willing people should not be a use case.
@rizpossnett And here I thought for a minute the replies where meant to be your reason. They sure work as prime examples. I am glad you took that action and sorry that you had to.
@thekeshawarrior @Whoever69825008@ask_aubry But you did not talk about the general group, you said "no conservative..". By the rules of logic a single example is enough to disprove your theory. So in this case a handful of specific cases is just fine.
@mayameme This sounds awful and exactly like the problems I encounter too often with colleagues. Dismissing social and psychological impact, likening AI to human(brains)...
@Andres_Stones@stanzipotenza Looks to me like this grandma was able to both decide about her life and her making memories with and for her granddaughter. Its their life and their grief. I cherish the fun videos I made with my grandma and I wish she had the opportunity to go sooner, like she wanted.
@itsPaulAi And this is why it does not make sense to replace people with AI. It is a tool and you need proficiency to both use it and evaluate the result. Go hire graphic designers that are able to use that tool to be better and faster.
@itsPaulAi This will not replace Graphic design, since there is much more to a good logo than just a description. This is like asking your cousin to draw a logo because they were good at art in school.
@RadioFreeStPaul@killroy42 @professowo @FamilyDrBen The science done by scientists. The science that tells you that neither your opinion nor the way a woman dresses has any significance on the topic. If you would like to oppose state of the art science go study, write a paper and watch it get shredded by your fellow scientists.
@AmandaAskell@mmitchell_ai The source of course says the same, the net is the same as a human applying the knowledge, not just the human reading. But even that is only the case for a few actions a human could take with that knowledge.
@AmandaAskell@mmitchell_ai A NN never just consumes, it always produces output. Thats why its training, not reading. I can read a book with or without a purpose beyond reading. The book may become part of my larger knowledge or worldview, I may be training for a test, I may do nothing beyond getting input.
@Sophiepedia@monaeltahawy The intention might have been nice but apart from hitting someone who does not want children you could hit non cis women, people with miscarriages, people who cannot have children. Apart from being way to personal and weird it could be very hurtful.
The issue of respectability in dress, and what constitutes "proper" attire in public, has raged for as long as people have worn clothes. People who take this position fail to recognize that their own clothes were once the "yoga pants" of their day. I will run through examples 🧵
I know a lot of you wanted a technical breakdown of this meme so here it is!
I don't think you will find this level of detail anywhere else so keep reading if you don't want to miss out.
