Army combat veteran-owned ranch in development in Green Country, OK. Building a peaceful retreat support healing for Veterans and Sex Trafficking Survivors
When the vision for the Blackheart Fellowship Ranch and Retreat came to me, I was in a dark place. I suffer from PTSD, not from combat, but due to the loss of so many friends from deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. I suffer from survivor's guilt.
I know that many of my friends deal with the same issue. After seeing one friend's post on Facebook on the anniversary of a VBED attack on a small patrol base during OEF that took the lives of 6 soldiers and injured several others, I felt the need to do something to help others deal with their pain and loss.
When the idea for the BHFRR came to me, it was as if God had placed his hand on me and spoken to me. I can't truly explain how I felt when it happened. I felt like I had a mission placed before me that I had to accept.
I'm looking forward to sharing the progress of the BHFRR as it comes to life.
PTSD Awareness Month is about breaking stigma, encouraging support and making sure veterans know they’re not alone.
At DAV, we fight every day to connect veterans with the benefits, care and resources they need to move forward.

Today has been crazy. I woke up to 98 followers and was so happy to break 100. Next thing I know, @Primrose771646 gives us a shout-out, and we are flooded with followers and break 400. More shout-outs by @Hawkesbay69 and others, and we are at 500+ followers and still climbing. Everyone else who has tagged us, I thank you too. Too many to mention at this point.
I can't thank you all enough. Especially those who loved and reposted our mission-related content🖤🖤✝️🙏
@Lawton_Braves I prefer aromatic tobaccos in them. Chocolatey ones are my favorite. I got started on my second deployment with a couple of cob pipes and a few pounds of good tobacco before I shipped out.
I served from 85-89 and 2005-2011. I was 17 when I stepped off the bus on Ft Knox the first time and 38 the next time. 15 years out of service when I re-enlisted.
@TurnerGardens We are exploring areas within an hour or so from Tulsa and OKC, close enough to draw to the venue and you-picks but open to other areas. We want land where Veterans can hunt and fish, as well as enjoy the ranch experience.
To @Primrose771646 and everyone else that reposted or posted @BHFRanch . Thank you! We had just got our 100th follower this morning and now it's over 200 and climbing.
Personally, this means a lot for our mission. Even though we are working on making God's vision come to life every prayer we receive helps.
We are not political, but we are patriots and love our country.
I will do my best to follow back everyone and soon give shout outs for those that did for us once things calm down.
@ric_dallas Thank you. He does every day. The vision he put before me will happen and I will share His love with every Veteran and Survivor that comes to the Ranch.

@ChristyTar23 Montana would be nice. I chose Oklahoma because I have family ties here and it's one of the best states when it comes to supporting Veterans. It has the best VA healthcare I've experienced.
To all of our new followers I ask you to read this

It explains our mission and how we plan to run the Blackheart Fellowship Ranch & Retreat. Veterans and Survivors will get their own blocks of protected time when they visit the ranch.
By running a hybrid LLC/NPO operation we hope not to have to strictly rely on donors, and other means of outside funds to keep the Retreat side going.
