This is Vitalii, 41, from Zhytomyr, and his wife Nelia. They have three children. Vitalii has been on the frontlines from the first days of the full-scale invasion.
A russian bullet went through Vitalii's brain and got stuck in the back of his head. Ukrainian professor Andrey Sirko and American professor Rocco Armonda performed a unique surgery for 5 hours and saved his live in Mechnikov hospital.
Vitalii's first word was his wife's name: Nelia. Then he remembered her phone number. Then he held her with both hands around the clock and didn't let go.
Now Vitalii and Nelia are going to Kyiv for rehabilitation. The neurosurgeons gave him the bullet as a souvenir to protect him from bad things in the future.
