@the_hindu, do you know who @Advait_Prashant is?

In 2026, an Indian philosopher took Vedanta and the question of humanity’s ecological crisis to Cambridge, Oxford, the British Parliament, LSE, London Climate Action Week and dialogues with leading scientists and academics.

Cambridge listened.
Oxford listened.
The House of Lords listened.
LSE listened.

So where was India’s mainstream media?

Where was the serious national coverage? Where was the intellectual curiosity?

This is not about promoting one individual. It is about journalism recognizing an extraordinary intellectual phenomenon happening on Indian soil.

Acharya Prashant is speaking relentlessly about climate change, consumerism, animal suffering, women’s liberation and the inner causes of humanity’s crises. Whether one agrees with him or challenges him, surely this body of work deserves serious journalistic examination.

Instead, much of Indian media remains consumed by the endless Left-vs-Right spectacle while some of the most consequential conversations originating from India struggle for serious attention at home.

And that raises an uncomfortable question:

What exactly must an Indian thinker accomplish before India’s leading newspapers consider him worth seriously covering?

@the_hindu, @IndianExpress, @timesofindia, @htTweets: journalism is not just about reporting what is already popular. It is also about recognizing what matters.

India should not have to wait for the world to recognize its thinkers before its own media begins paying attention.

Watch. Question. Critique. Disagree if you must.

But first, do your job and engage.

Got Your iPhone?

Something has to be done to kill time. What to do to kill time? Go buy a phone, go get a girl, some random mischief... go to jail. There somebody else will relieve you of deciding time. That's the expression they use in jail, right? ‘He's serving time.’

Shouldn't have been an issue at all, sir. If you need a phone, you need a phone. What's the big deal in it? The problem is not the phone. The problem is not knowing who am I and why do I need a new phone. If you need a phone, you need a phone - fine, go get it. There is nothing in it to discuss. You need to drink water, do you turn it into a spiritual question? You need to buy a t-shirt, how is that a thing to be explored with a teacher? Because those are simple things in which the ego anyway doesn't have deep stakes.

The expensive phone becomes an instrument to the ego, an instrument of self-protection - not an instrument that would lead the ego to some kind of elevated purpose.

🇦🇪 UAE: ₹1,28,600

IN THE HIDDEN VALLEY OF ZANGSKAR…
to help a young entrepreneur replace bottled water (shipped from faraway Punjab on smoke belching trucks melting our glaciers)… with pure Himalayan spring water of Zangskar.

With local employment, bottle recycling plans & profits shared with community this could be a win-win business model for ecology, economy & society…

On this understanding the brand name #IceStupa was shared with Lobzang Rinchen the amazing local entrepreneur.

[Bhuvneshwari Thakur @Bhuvneshwarith]
