You can't do much with price without hurting current home owners though. And older people vote way more than younger people.

Therefore, the focus would be making the loans more affordable / obtainable. Doesn't hurt the current owners. Banks are going to fight portable mortgages though. That's why you see Trump focused on interest rates (fighting with Powell). And suggesting things like 40+ year mortgages. Banks will obviously be cool with that
