@bluecatsarah@AshleyDalton_MP@lucianaberger The bill goes above/ beyond and would be more stringent than anything other countries who have introduced it has. They haven't encountered the problems, the scaremongers here, would have us all believe. The HoL have zero interest in getting this done, regardless.
“We owe it to all those terminally ill people and their families...And I believe it undermines public trust in our democracy more widely if we cannot deliver on a measure that is supported by a very large majority of voters in all parts of the country."
@DaJanTRO@serenityonline1@ArchRose90 Those other things aren't online, i.e. you can't hide your identity while you're doing them. Ultimately there's ways to confirm who was driving, who bought the firearm, who had their dick out. That's why online needs ways of confirming who is who.
@RandomGadgie@serenityonline1@ArchRose90 Tbf children / U18s aren't the ones, broadly speaking, purchasing the phones (and U16s are the age we're talking about). So that wouldn't change much.
Why not put the onus on the tech companies?
@cf_bdd_fb@plmorenaa13 First I'd check with her, does she feel in a safe space. The I'd ask her if she's comfortable with me looking at her. If she is I'd check how she likes being approached.
All of the above without making eye contact.
@seany991@ArchRose90 Perhaps. But because there are other problems, should we pretend there isn't a problem with children being manipulated, abused and violated on SM?
@gantz0l2@ArchRose90 Yes but that doesn't stop the ones not caught coming after your child, does it?
Why not both - lock up peodos as well as implement controls on the SM platforms?
