70% of teen soccer players quit by age 13.
Why? Pressure, burnout, lost joy.
Don't critique your kid right after games. THEY WILL SHUT DOWN.
Ask this instead: “What did you learn?”

If you want your teen Athlete to grow through and love the game...
✅ Focus on growth, not just goals
✅ Cheer, don’t coach from the sidelines
✅ Take one sport-free day each week
✅ Talk about life beyond the field

⚽️ Talent isn’t enough. If you avoid challenges, skip basics, or can’t use both feet—you’re holding yourself back. Coaches notice habits, not just highlights. #YouthSoccer#PlayerDevelopment
⚠️ More isn't always better:
- More training = more injuries if you skip recovery
- Year-round soccer with no breaks = burnout
- Fatigue = sloppy play + frustration on game day

Slipped through the cracks, but a much-deserved congratulations to CJ Sapong (@BigAfrika88) on a wonderful career, as he announced his retirement earlier this week.
Sapong, 36, made a total of 425 appearances, scoring 97 goals and adding 41 assists over 29,182 minutes of play. With Philadelphia specifically, he featured 135 times, netted 38 goals, and recorded 14 assists across all competitions.
It’s also important to highlight CJ’s impactful philanthropic work through Sacred Seeds, his initiative to nourish and educate youth in underserved communities. The organization focuses on identifying nutrient deficiencies and establishing urban gardens and greenhouses to help address them.
Congratulations, CJ, on an incredible career—and best of luck in this next chapter.

I cried in the shower this morning.
Not because I’m retiring from the game.
Not because I’ll miss scoring in front of thousands.
Not even because I’ll miss the locker room.
I cried because of what’s next. 🧵👇
My next chapter is about purpose:
⚽ Helping youth players and aspiring elites
🤝 Bridging gaps between players and parents, coaches & agents
🌎 Building community around intention, growth & love for the game
