You are NOT slept on if:
Your GPA starts with a (1)
You haven’t completed the FAFSA
You haven’t applied to any schools
You haven’t attended any camps
You’re only open to D1
The reality is YOU’RE SLEEPING ON YOURSELF
Truth ⬇️⬇️⬇️ focus on getting on the field and getting your grades squared away! 1.9 GPA won’t magically become a 3.0 just cause senior year you figure out you wanna play ball!
"When should I start reaching out to coaches?"
We get this question all the time.
Our answer: Unless you're a JR in HS, then you shouldn't even be focused on it yet.
Instead, work on improving your grades & game.
I’ll up this, kids under 16.... I can maybe understand if you’ve got college offers in a certain sport wanting to dial it in Junior/ Senior year, but besides that, do everything you want. Coaches should always encourage multi sport kids.
Coaches, here is another player spotlight:
Check out Class of 2023, @NorthOldhamHigh DE/C
He currently is tied for 11th in the state and tied for 3rd in class 4a in sacks.
He is one you will want to keep your eye on this yer and next!!
I don’t think the problem is “being seen” … I think the problem is a lot of kids (and their parents) think they’re better than they really are. Many are actually being told (by coaches they pay) that they’re D1 athletes & they’re not even close. The transfer portal doesn’t lie.
2️⃣2️⃣s
No FBS or FCS offers at this point??😫
Gotta start reaching out to D2-D3-NAIA-JUCO
Start with schools in a 3-5 hour radius, see if they have your major.. and hit up those coaches NOW
Worst is when I hear kids go “oh he only went D3”, then I ask how many offers you got? And they go none but I’ve been “contacted” (mass mail) by half a dozen colleges. You’ll see how quickly you’ll wanna go D3 when there’s no offers on your plate in January.
If you’re getting contacted by D3 coaches and rudely telling them you’re ONLY interested in D1 programs don’t be surprised when D1 coaches find out and never show interest. Coaches constantly talk and circles are small. No coach, AT ANY LEVEL, wants an obnoxious ego maniac.

If Trevor Lawrence throws 1+ regular season touchdown pass to Tim Tebow this season, we’ll buy every person who likes and retweets this tweet an NFL jersey of their choice.
(Must be following us to claim)
Not a stronger Pure DE prospect in the state! 6-3 240 benches 345. Absolute force in the run game and shows a great get off here! Oh and he’s also an absolute mauler on offense at OT and TE.
If you’re class of 2024 or lower, stay out of DMs and focus on your grades and making an impact on the field before you even consider being recruited heavily. You might be a 8th/9th grade baller, but Varsity ball is a different level. Get on the field then we can talk.
You don’t “settle” for D3. You go to a D3 because it’s the best fit for you as a student-athlete. Don’t listen to the knuckleheads who say differently, do what’s best for you and run your own race!
Personal opinion: If your travel team or training partners are more prevelent in your twitter Bio and your social media than your High School team, you’re worried about the wrong thing. First/ foremost your goal should be to help your HS win games. Anything beyond that is bonus
Go where you’ll play. Go where you’ll develop. Go where you can fail.
If you’re optimizing for prestige over playing time, development and fun, you’re putting your long-term potential in jeopardy.
@Kreager And do not get me wrong, absolutely love yalls coverage, you and Cecil have done so much for HS sports coverage, just thinking of the kids and how it was frustrating for me in HS to not be able to read about my team.
