A new dark web service called “Nexus” claims to be selling digital scans of more than 153 MILLION driver’s licenses belonging to people in the United States and Canada.

And we’re not just talking about names and addresses leaked in a database.

These are reportedly actual scans of government-issued IDs.

Cybersecurity journalist Brian Krebs was able to find his own driver’s license in the database. The license of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was reportedly there too, along with IDs belonging to other high-ranking government officials.

The FBI’s New Orleans field office has now opened an inquiry into where these images came from.
Early evidence points toward data collected by a major identity-verification company, meaning these may be documents Americans handed over because they were told they needed to “verify their identity.”

Dangerous Hit Piece: LA Times Puts a Target on Amy Mek

The Los Angeles Times published a piece claiming Amy Mek’s reporting on the Islamic Center of Irvine sparked “online threats of violence.”

The actual evidence they offered: two anonymous Facebook comments under someone else’s repost. One said “Dynamite.” One used a bomb emoji. That is it.

Irvine police told the paper they are “not aware of any credible threats at this time.”

The article buried that fact and still ran with the intimidation narrative.

What the Times did not do is engage the substance of Mek’s reporting. The mosque acquired additional buildings and described an Islamic “Village” campus offering services rooted in Islamic principles (SHARIA).

She asked a straightforward public question: is a parallel society being built in Orange County? The paper skipped that question and went straight to alleged backlash.

This is the inversion. The journalist examining the expansion plans and stated goals is treated as the danger.

Those advancing the project are cast as the victims. Voices from the terrorist group CAIR and allied activists are elevated as authorities while their long pattern of inflating “Islamophobia” numbers with little public documentation is ignored.

Critics, like Amy Mek, of Islamic strategy have been driven into hiding, placed under security, or killed for looking at the same documents and tactics. Framing scrutiny itself as the threat is not journalism. It is a warning shot.

Two anonymous comments do not constitute a campaign of violence. Police confirmation of no credible threats does not support a front-page threat narrative.

Refusing to address the Islamic “Village” model and the Muslim Brotherhood type of parallel-society questions does not make those questions disappear.

Readers who want the facts should look at Mek’s original reporting, not a reframing that treats examination of the blueprint as the real offense.
