PERSONAL NEWS: Excited, humbled to announce that I am joining @USATODAY@usatodaysports as College Sports Insider. Full-circle moment for me after starting in newspapers & reading USAT thru college & beyond. Many, including my great wife, Jess, have supported beyond measure.
Doesn’t happen w/o the great experience @FootballScoop alongside Scott, Doug & Zach; great colleagues & men.
Excited to roll later this month!
@WorldExposureWB Good lord. What a crock. Apples/ oranges. Summitt was completely building a new program from the ashes of the AIAW. The resources, support and money available for the current coach is night and day, miles, ions and a lifetime better than what Summitt faced. Don’t even go there.
Awful performances at Neyland against Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. The Illinois performance was par for the season, just uninspired, undisciplined and often downright bad. One positive was beating a bad Florida team in Gainesville. But that was it.
Really crappy year for Tennessee football. Undisciplined team. Offense was inconsistent and not good at extending drives on third down. Defense was atrocious. Kicker was garbage on big kicks. Not one single decent win. Don’t see a single positive on season.
@BenHazlewood2@JohnDBrice1@Vol_Football@BretBielema@SEC@CoachSBeamer@coachjoshheupel Actually, he’s probably on to something. Year 5 and Vols were extremely undisciplined, leading to all 5 L’s. Defense was Sunseri Swiss cheese. No wins vs teams w/ winning rec.
Heupel has fewer postseason wins than Butch Jones in same timeframe. Now 0-2 in MCB and 1-3 vs B1G.
@on3 Reading the comments, you can really feel the excitement for the @MusicCityBowl. UT fans can’t wait to freeze their butts off in a crappy stadium, watching their team on a brown field with generic “Nashville” painted in the end zone, still seeing the Titans logo under it.
Hahahahahaha! Embarrassing. From playoff to this craphole? Hahahaha! What a boring matchup. Hahahaha! Vols should’ve just declined a postseason. Goodness.
Everything Josh Heupel said after Tennessee’s 45-24 home loss to Vanderbilt.
“Extremely disappointing second half that leads to an extremely disappointing ultimate result. Coaches and players all play a part in it.”

Democrats have now voted 11 TIMES to keep the government closed — blocking pay for troops, Border Patrol, TSA agents, air traffic controllers, and the rest of our federal workforce.
Yesterday, they went EVEN FURTHER — voting against a bipartisan standalone bill to fund our national defense and pay our troops.
Their message couldn’t be clearer: politics OVER patriots, and the American people LAST.
Tennessee completely took over Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday 🍊👀
Mississippi State fans are less than pleased with their school’s faculty members, who apparently sold a lot of their tickets to Tennessee fans.
The split between Vols and Bulldogs in the crowd was closer to that of a neutral site game than a road game.
