Don't forget to be kind. Entire lives exist in your blind spots that you will never see. It's easy to be mad at people you don't know. But their lives are not yours, and places like this erase nuance from view. So don't forget your kindness.

Everyone who makes adult content online should be prepared to fight Sen. Blumenthal's EARN IT Act, brought back from the grave by a bipartisan consensus to destroy Section 230, and can "devastate the hard-fought gains of the sex work creator economy":
But what do I know? Who am I to you? What if I'm secretly an awful person, sneaking some sort of brain poison into you? What gotcha awaits me if you disagree? This isn't healthy. This fear and this cynicism, I get it. But it will isolate you more than you can know. Take care.
I'm just sort of tired of social media spaces. Being pressed against people who don't know me, who are so cynical and scared that they assume the worst in everything I say, that will never bat an eye if they hurt me because it's so easy to justify hurting someone you don't know.
I can't speak for everyone that's ever been hurt. But I can say that this culture developing across social media, on Tumblr and Twitter and Facebook? This isn't what healing or justice looks like. This is just creating more victims, creating a cycle of abuse.
Every once in a while, think about how you feel. Do you feel good hurting somebody? Do you feel bad about how you're being treated? Think about it a little. See if your normal needs adjusting. Communicate it, and go from there. Hurt is hurt, no matter who it's happening to.
I was younger, I just wanted to follow the rules. I was bad at it, I struggled with ADHD. Despite being able to connect the dots really well, I couldn't handle school. I passed with the lowest GPA possible.
What is normal to you? Are you sure that it is healthy? That it is good? Have you taken the time to think it over, consider your place in all of it, where it's leading? Normal isn't always the media, either, it depends on who you're surrounded by, how you've lived.
