@PhantasticGeek Loved it. Is it an extension of the show? Yes. But thatโs exactly why it was phun. If you were around in the 80s and someone said: โwe are doing an action movie with a Boba Fett guy and a baby yoda fighting Jabas family.โ Would you have hated it?
@PhantasticGeek Just really wanted to see Luke have a go at the AVTF. Glad the writers gave us a courtroom takedown. So glad the Marvel Street NYC Heroes are still getting air time. Hopefully much more to come!
@kclyle1@PhantasticGeek I forget how good (most) of the Marvel Netflix era was. Itโs great to see JJ on screen again. Hard not to want to see everyone. Where is Turk???!!!
@PhantasticGeek@PieterJKetelaar The overall arc was pretty much set in stone from the pilot. But the character development kept me pleasantly surprised. Hoping to see these characters for a long long time. The Thok/Reno banter stole the season for me.
@PhantasticGeek Reno Reno Reno! I am hard pressed to find a better acting captain performance in all of Trek. The tie back to her grilling Mir in the 2nd(?) episode was so satisfying. Disco finds amazing ways to be useless given they should be literally solving every problem.
@PhantasticGeek I really loved this one. Trek really shines in debate/court room heavy episodes. The ending seemed a bit telegraphed, but these are teaching moments right? The Klingons have a passion for ceremony/symbolism and understanding that can make them powerful allies.
@PhantasticGeek The Little Shop of Horrors solution seemed so obvious. But maybe thatโs because I am closer to the chancellorโs age than the studentsโ ages. Didnโt expect to see the War College rivalry stir up so quickly. โWhatโs for dinner?โ is still the final frontier.
@PhantasticGeek The โkidsโ really look great on screen together. It wasnโt hard to believe they could come through a crisis together just to get home. I want to rewatch just to catch all the goodies in the background. The Doctorโs opera in the background was brilliant (Emmy now). Iโll stop.
@PhantasticGeek It might be the best 1st/2nd episode offering of a trek series to date. The pacing was amazing. The War College was brilliant and will pay off for sure. So much fan service happening in the background. Discovery will have to be โin the shopโ every episode.
@PhantasticGeek Tig and Gina look like they are having more fun than anyone before them. Disco suffered for having too many great characters. So far SFA feels more balanced. Most impressively, the show captures the tone of post adolescence and the joy/torture of dealing with young adults.
