🤔Did you know you cannot be prohibited, restricted, or unduly taxed for running a node or using a self-hosted wallet in Indiana?

Indiana’s new law (HB 1042) is about more than just digital assets in state pension funds. It's also about protecting the rights of Bitcoiners.

The law states that no public agency, except the Department of Financial Institutions, may prohibit, restrict, or impair a person’s ability to:

• run a node
• use a self-hosted or hardware wallet
• maintain custody of their digital assets

And importantly, “impairment” includes taxes.👈

In other words: running a node or holding your own keys cannot be unduly taxed or restricted.

Many jurisdictions leave this in a gray area. Even in the EU, self-hosted wallets sit in regulatory limbo for peer-to-peer transfers.

In Indiana, the rights are explicit.

🏛️Tomorrow is the first hearing for House Bill 1042 (HB 1042) before the Indiana Senate Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee tomorrow, and we want to show our support. 💪

HB 1042 could be a genuine step forward in developing the Bitcoin mining industry for the benefit of everyone in Indiana.🙏We appreciate the work of the lawmakers who took the time to engage seriously with the industry.

The bill already passed the House, and we're hopeful for the Senate.

👍Whatever the outcome, it’s encouraging to see thoughtful legislation around digital asset infrastructure reach this stage.
