My brother got into Harvard. Full ride, top of his class, dream school.
I got rejected everywhere. Ended up at the community college down the street, the one nobody puts on a bumper sticker.
He's three years into a PhD now, still being funded to "figure out his thesis."
I finished my associate's in welding in 18 months, got certified, and started working underwater pipeline repair.
Last year I made $146K
He's making $34K as a research assistant and calling it an investment in his future.
Everyone told me community college was the backup plan.
Turns out it was just the plan nobody bothered explaining to me.
Michelle Obama says nobody recognizes her in public anymore and it’s not because of a disguise
"What we realized is that it’s not me, it’s Secret Service that usually tips people off."
"you’re walking along and some big guy goes, 'Wait, stop!' And they’re not paying attention, they look up and like, 'First of all, why are you touching me?' And then they look up, and then it’s me."
"if I put on a cap, if I’ve got on a Lululemon something or other, I blend in with all the other ladies."
"you all aren’t looking at anybody. Everybody’s on their phone these days, so it’s very easy for me to get around."
"I’m only allowed to really drive on Martha’s Vineyard, there’s no highways. They’re following me, it’s kind of like your pretend driving, but I’m alone in the car."
"I haven’t had a window open in our cars because that is dangerous, apparently. They want you in."
There are lot of things that causes mouth odor even the simplest things we don’t think of like (dehydration, mouth always closed, some lifestyle or medication) so treatment depends on the cause
Your body is the phone. Your Orí is the operating system.
The hardware can be fine and the phone still misbehaves, because the OS decides what runs, what gets stored, and what gets shut down. Orí does the same work for a life: it chooses, filters, and carries what the body then has to execute.
Incompatible apps make a phone malfunction. Company that fights your nature, habits borrowed from someone else’s destiny, beliefs that were never written for your system — they install, then crash the rest. The body starts lagging, overheating, restarting for no clear reason.
Too much storage does the same. Unprocessed grief, old vows, other people’s expectations, secrets you keep reopening — they fill the disk. Orí cannot write new instructions when there is no free space. The life does not break. It just slows, freezes, and drains.
A phone also fails from a bad update, heat, a dying battery, or one app running in the background forever. So does a person: a forced change you were not ready for, constant pressure, a body pushed past its charge, one unresolved thing that never truly closes.
Clear what does not belong to the system. Stop installing what your Orí did not request. Leave room. Then the body stops fighting the operating system it was built to run.
You do not know how deep this Orí calling is.
I was one week away from receiving $10,000 when I was evicted. The shake from that made me miss the money. That was where I knew something was wrong, and I started searching. The search made me who I am today. If the money had landed, I would not be doing any of this. Looking at it now, this road is the better one.
Your Enemies Are Not Chasing You — They Are Running From Themselves
The person who undermines you, the one who talks behind your back, the one who is jealous — they are not obsessed with you. They are running from their own emptiness. You are just a mirror they cannot look into.
