The issue with purchasing anything from the US is that the US is under the control of a Groyper government.

The military brass doesn't understand such things, they're not supposed to, their job is operational capability, not strategic decision-making.

First, peace on the Sino-Indian border depends upon the ability of the Indian military to show case deterrence. We are a non-aggressor in this conflict. The Chinese dictate the escalation ladder.

IF, the Indian military keeps up deterrence, there will be no Sino-Indian War. If the Indian military is unable to keep up deterrence, there will be a Sino-Indian War if PLA brass feels they can steamroll IA without much casualties.

Second, and most importantly, a Sino-Indian conflict is in the interest of the US administration. Taiwan is a ruse, everyone knows the Taiwanese will fall in the first few hours of bombardment. There is only one country that borders China that is even remotely capable of sustaining barrages of CJ-10s and DF-21s due to its sheer size.

Third, now we come to the point about why importing weapons from the US is a bad idea.

Subpoint 1, importing weapons in general is a bad idea. Modern wars are fought on the basis of quantity, not quality. The more weapons you can churn out, the better you can fight. Importing a weapon is like making your friend do your homework. Sure, it looks to the teacher that you have the capability, but you're fucked if she decides to do a surprise test. And war is always a surprise test.

Subpoint 2, importing weapons causes a loss of jobs and a loss of capital to the country. When you build your weapons, every rupee GoI pays to HAL, TASL, Bharat Forge etc., is ultimately a rupee that stays and circulates in India. It is a subsidy the government pays into itself. The military industrial complex can be a huge employer with a country with the youth bulge as India. It also stops the deprecation of the rupee. India's largest imports are oil and weapons. The government is forcing us to put sugarcane in our cars, it must force the Indian military to induct our weapons. Again, if they bitch about "quality" see subpoint 1.

Subpoint 3, the American ruling class is increasingly becoming racialist in character in the 2020s and this is unlikely to change. In their hierarchy, Indians, as a people are worth less, to make our arms supply chain dependent on this country is a mistake we would be making. Imagine we're getting bombarded by a barrage of CJ-10s and the people in the American administration decide to withold maintainance arms shipments because "more Indian deaths will be a good thing". This is not something that hasn't happened before. Under Indira Gandhi, the US administration was under the control of Nixon and his Jew buddy Paul Ehrlich, who wanted to detonate nuclear bombs on India. It was funny that India attained nuclear weapons capability when Nixon was president, pissing him off, but what was not funny was that the American administration funded and justified the genocide of Bangladeshi Hindus by the Pakistani army downstream of the racialist character of the Nixon administration, and the IAF was almost were ready to bomb the USS Enterprise coming to attack us for dismembering the Pakistanis, before the Soviets intercepted the fleet.
