Life is full of signs, both literally and figuratively. Two years ago, one sign changed Sean Tuff’s life.

He came across a sign for @Bikeroot community bike shop on the University of Calgary campus and it piqued his curiosity enough to check it out.

Introducing https://t.co/KYROyMvjy8: a new NW Calgary bike shop. Launching first as an online store to raise money for a physical location early next year.

Delivering in this zone on our bikes Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings! Pickup and installation also available. #yyc

Great move Calgary Transit. Sustainable transportation within Calgary is not only possible, but easy!

[Calgary Transit @calgarytransit]

#CTRiders, bikes are now allowed on CTrains at all times until March 31, 2023. Remember your bike can’t block access to exits or the operator’s cab, you must be in control of your bike at all times, and please ensure your bike isn’t interfering with other customers.

Attention: we saw this bike improperly locked outside the shop and brought it inside for a warm and safe place to rest for the evening. Please reach out to us to get it back, providing specific details like the bike brand, serial number, groupset on it, receipt of purchase or key

@alderaphobia @twowheelview @KnifeNerd We cycle through inventory too fast to keep track. Many are sold and donated to us each week, so there's always something new! Any particular bike type/size/parts that you're interested in?

[TheBikeRoot @Bikeroot]

@Retrobcalgary Yes, Adam's in until 5pm today. Glad we checked Twitter at this moment today!

[TheBikeRoot @Bikeroot]

@alderaphobia @twowheelview @KnifeNerd Yes, we have over a dozen budget refurbished bikes ready now, typically ranging between $80-$140. The best part: they're not overly flashy or nice, so less likely to be stolen than a more premium commuter.

[TheBikeRoot @Bikeroot]

@NSandblom Crazy warm weather we had lately and returning next week. Enjoy this interesting year for winter cycling, and hope your errands went well!

[TheBikeRoot @Bikeroot]

We want you to join the volunteering team at Bike Root! Also: help us pay our bills during the slower months and beat others to the spring rush of components. - https://t.co/hZUy4Pz9Jb

Bike Root is on the map, the 2021 Calgary Pathways and Bikeways map to be precise (the newest printed version). The city was kind enough to mail us hundreds of these to distribute freely. Stop by the shop and pick up one or twelve!

Bike infrastructure along existing roadways transitions spatially intensive excludable space for automobiles into inclusive space for humans.

I'm still not sure what they expected us to do outside

[TheBikeRoot @Bikeroot]

@molszyns Yes, we currently have Schwalbe Winter tires: 26x1.75" & 700x40c for lower-than-retail prices. Can order other sizes and varieties of Schwalbe (particularly the Marathon Winter and Ice Spiker). Thanks for the mention @JackieSeidel1

Bike Repair Station #2 is now live in front of Kinesiology in the TFDL Quad! This one has a door that you need to open before accessing the tools or pump.

Day #7: bike needed small cleanup and tune. @Bikeroot is a wonderful community resource! We need more places like that

You know what freedom is for me? Not caring what the price of gas currently is.

[TheBikeRoot @Bikeroot]

@Ryan_Watmough @yyctransport @JeffSpeckFAICP @BrentToderian Seems not; car lanes are empty. We need more #Walkability fellow Speckian!

[TheBikeRoot @Bikeroot]

@Squee22 @yyctransport @edwinmundt Were the cars wearing hi-vis?
