في مثل هذا اليوم، الثامن ماي 1945، ارتكبت فرنسا الاستعمارية واحدة من أبشع المجازر في تاريخ الإنسانية بحق الشعب الجزائري الأعزل، فسقط أكثر من 45 ألف شهيد في سطيف وقالمة وخراطة ومناطق عديدة، فقط لأنهم طالبوا بالحرية والكرامة والاستقلال.
ذكرى أليمة تبقى محفورة في وجدان الأمة، نستحضر فيها تضحيات الشهداء الأبرار الذين كتبوا بدمائهم الطاهرة فجر الحرية، وأثبتوا أن الجزائر لا تُنتزع إلا بالكفاح والنضال.

En 2005, le diplomate français, Hubert Colin de Verdière, alors Ambassadeur de France en Algérie 🇩🇿, qualifiait le massacre de « tragédie inexcusable ». Il s’agit d’un tournant dans l’histoire de l’Algérie, le moment où la patience a cédé la place à la révolte, où le peuple algérien a compris qu’il n’aurait sa liberté que par la force. La résistance algérienne commence alors à se réorganiser. 9 ans plus tard, la guerre de libération éclate menant à l’inéluctable.
Le peuple algérien n’oubliera jamais.
