In an August 2022 interview with Michigan Advance after the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, Rashida Tlaib said her community was “thrilled.” She framed the raid as necessary accountability and insisted the law must apply equally to everyone,including a former president.

She said: “He’s not above the law. If he committed a crime, he should be held accountable to it. I don’t care that he was president of the United States… No one is above the law and I’ve said that over and over again.”

Accountability for all individuals, regardless of their status.
