Tim Forcey worked for Exxon, BHP, Jemina for 3 decades, was the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) Gas Principal and energy analyst at University of Melbourne.
Tim says if WA Gov approves Woodside's 50-year NWS LNG extension, it will drive WA power bills through the roof.

Thankful that @simonahac is now factchecking and correcting Dick Smith’s and Macca’s outrageous claims. The fact that Dick is still bagging @CSIRO’s analysis of the cost of nuclear, without firm evidence to the contrary, is anti-science and genuinely embarrassing.
What an utter disgrace, @abcnews. Macca and Dick Smith on Australia All Over ranting and talking down renewables, bagging CSIRO, getting very political, and talking up nuclear power, for close to an hour, largely unquestioned by genuine experts. WTAF.

The program you're complaining about is this one, broadcast the morning of Sun Nov 3, 2024.
Macca allowed a number of uncontested, unscientific lies to be broadcast about nuclear and renewable energy in an interview with his good mate Dick Smith.

🔴Telegraph Misled Readers on Climate Change Impact, rules Press Watchdog in Rare Slap-Down
Six-month battle sees newspaper forced to correct an inaccurate article about the impact of climate change on rail delays, @josiahmortimer reports
https://t.co/JMFM04oTSj
Despite some claims to the contrary, the consensus of the climate science community is that surface warming halts when carbon emissions reach zero.

ATO data out today and...
Oh look, the foreign-owned salmon industry paid no tax, again, while selling $0.5 billion worth of fish and driving Aus species to extinction.

The fire was nothing to do with it being electric - it was the "cargo" that caught fire.
Meanwhile, for people living & working in towns & cities these things are wonderful - they are SO MUCH quieter than the horrible noisy diesel bin wagons they replace.
Total net greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union dropped by 8% last year, marking significant progress towards climate neutrality for the EU. @EUEnvironment
https://t.co/QRtvSo0t0f
Anyone still remember 2022 when the EU was supposed to be going back to coal and emissions were going to increase? I've been screaming since late 2022 that emissions were actually falling, and our real-time EU CO2 emissions tracker estimated an 8% drop in emissions in 2023, not too bad compared with the official number of 8.3% that came out 10 months later.
The sad reality of what happens when companies & industries deny change rather than seizing opportunity.
Economics, physics, climate & technology mean that electrification & renewables are inevitable. Incumbents can make all the arguments they want, but delay means greater pain.
