The #wellbeing group at #Hunterson A Site recently organised a week-long Step Challenge competition. Six teams took part and walked a total of 2,649,711 steps, the equivalent of walking from Hunterston to Italy! Congratulations to 'Team Cramps' on winning the competition.
Over 180 acres of unmown land provided a valuable source of nectar for pollinating insects at Magnox sites during the #NoMowMay campaign. This collective action also makes a positive contribution towards the #WorldEnvironmentDay#OnlyOneEarth campaign 2022

Deplanting of the last active effluent system at #Trawsfynydd Site is now complete. The 1500kg of intermediate level waste recovered from the 11 tanks and associated pipework has been packaged for onward processing.

An extensive project to remove asbestos from eight cable risers and other areas in the reactor buildings at #Trawsfynydd Site has completed. Supply chain partners the Erith Group and OBR Construction decontaminated a 4,470m2 surface area to facilitate future demolition work.
Fuel element debris retrievals have recommenced at #Berkeley Site following a pause to modify the plant to load first of a kind 6m3 concrete waste storage boxes. This landmark achievement for Magnox is the culmination of a huge amount of work both on and off site. #DecommProgress
Today we announce that one of our most iconic facility, the Magnox Reprocessing Plant, will finish its mission in July and enter a new era of clean-up and decommissioning.

All Magnox sites are taking part in the #NoMowMay campaign to leave grassy areas to grow and flower and provide a vital source of nectar for pollinators and other insects. Our employees are encouraged to take part too by leaving the mower in the shed throughout May.

Llanfair PG Football Club’s under 11’s (Dewrion) team are proud to train in their new jackets funded by Magnox's socio-economic scheme. Indoor training facilities were closed during the pandemic, so this donation allowed the team to train outside all year round #football
South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team benefitted from £2,640 from the Magnox socio-economic scheme to kit the 33 volunteers out with new waterproof trousers. @sssarteam also received funding in 2019 to help buy waterproof jackets - looking good and staying dry while out on calls.

The first of several #Wylfa Site demolition projects planned for 2022 is underway. KDC Decommissioning Services are preparing the former day operations building for its safe removal this weekend followed by two modular structures in the coming weeks.

An unroadworthy Land Drover Defender from #Wylfa Site has been given a new lease of life following a meticulous refurbishment by asset disposal specialists @RamcoUK. It sold at an online auction for £16,600 which generated a financial return for Magnox. #circulareconomy
The Dragon reactor core segmentation machine at #Winfrith Site is a superb example of how science, technology and engineering continues to innovate decommissioning. Non active trials of the machinery recently completed taking us one step closer to active commissioning #BSW22
The contract to demolish the turbine hall at #Sizewell A Site is now out to tender. The footprint of the building is almost 7,700m2 and its volume more than 175,000m3. The work is scheduled to start in the summer which will reveal a major skyline change when complete.
