In an interview with Al Mayadeen on Wednesday, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that the Iranian Armed Forces, which usually take responsibility for their actions, have not claimed responsibility regarding the Apache helicopter, even before the United States made its accusations.

He added that Iran consistently announces its military actions, whether it downs aircraft, drones, or targets military bases, stressing that Tehran always makes its position clear.

Professor Marandi said there is a possibility that the helicopter crashed due to technical failures, questioning why an Apache attack helicopter was operating in the Strait of Hormuz in the first place.

He explained that US military hardware in the region is not being stored under ideal conditions, noting that bases have been destroyed and that the summer climate, including sandstorms and high humidity, is causing significant wear and damage to equipment.
