It is very interesting that Winky D is talking about vinyl records. Vinyl is back in a big way, especially in Britain, where sales have increased for 18 consecutive years. In 2025, 7.6 million vinyl albums were sold, generating £174.7 million.
I have often wondered what happened to the vinyl pressing machines at Gramma Records and ZMC in Zimbabwe. Whoever owns those machines today could make a massive killing if they revived vinyl production, secured the rights to Zimbabwean music and persuaded today’s major artists, such as Winky D and Jah Prayzah, to release their music on vinyl.
Young people in the Western world are showing a growing appetite for vinyl. They want physical ownership, the artwork, the experience of holding an album and the feeling of possessing something tangible, rather than relying entirely on streaming.
If Zimbabwe had a functioning vinyl-pressing operation producing music by our biggest artists, collectors and fans around the world would probably pay a premium for it. This could become a highly profitable business and a powerful way of exporting Zimbabwean music globally.
Vinyl outsold CDs financially because records are considerably more expensive, generating almost £75 million more than CDs, which brought in £99.6 million.
The figures show that vinyl is no longer simply a nostalgic product for older music lovers. It has become a premium, collectible format embraced by younger fans who value the artwork, physical ownership and listening experience.
Vinyl sales rose by 19.9% in value in 2025, while CD revenue increased by only 3.1%. So CDs still sell more copies, but vinyl now dominates the physical music market in terms of money generated, accounting for roughly 63% of revenue from these two formats.
Dear Zimbabweans,
Let’s all unite against the constitutional amendments! It’s you and me who will be affected by these changes! They went into war to fight for a one man one vote! They rolled tankers in the streets in 2017 to defend the constitution! What is this now?
President @nelsonchamisa crime is defeating ZANU-PF’s candidate in both 2018 and 2023 to such an extent that they now seek to keep him off the ballot. Zimbabweans who voted for him are being punished with the removal of their right to choose a president of their own choice. This is a direct assault on democratic will, and we cannot watch in silence!
In 2026 ….. Never waste your time explaining yourself to people who have decided who they “think” you are , focus on planning and executing your plans , you ain’t living their lives, but yours! Time spent ain’t coming back, you are getting closer to the end of your time each passing day, so don’t waste it on bitter people.
Good morning ,today we officially declare Marble Chinomona the enermy of the people .

She is evil
This investigation by @CiteZW is very important and must be read by every Zimbabwean who cares about the country.
The President of Zimbabwe’s Senate, Mable Chinomona, has acted with shocking irresponsibility by spending US$400,000 of taxpayers money upgrading her private residence.
She did this at a time when hospitals in Zimbabwe have no medicines, citizens are going to bed on empty stomachs, and young people are roaming the streets unemployed and without hope.
This is a painful and damning illustration of how detached the political elite have become from the suffering of ordinary people.
Well done to CiteZW for exposing this rot and holding those in power to account.
