@SCHDETF Thanks for the update! More earnings this week. Unfortunately it appears the Iran situation is getting worse. Need to brace for impact. No panicing here but need mental strength to keep to long term plan.
@SCHDETF@padron_elvis@SCHDaccumulator what are we seeing here? New record high. It would appear that SCHD is hitting on all cylinders! Need to watch for massive inflows. They could hurt us again.
@SCHDETF @padron_elvis @SCHDaccumulator Guys double checking all my numbers before I post my count and goals.
I am going to post the dividend share growth with 2 breakouts.
1. Dividend parents. These are dividend shares purchased from only my capital invested.
2. Dividend children and grandchildren.
Each new quarter my capital creates another parent. Once created I track its growth then minus out original parent and you get pure dividends from dividends. Small now but should grow.
I can share this now:
1. Dividend Parents last 4 quarters. 393.6251 shares at $29.87 cost.
2. Dividend children. Last 3 quarters since September 2025 was first Parent. 3.974 shares at $31.11
Here’s what I love about SCHD, my dividend parents are up $1,247 since purchase. Children up $7.66 on only $123! More to come with my complete post.
Elvis, awesome. Just about done goal setting out to YE 2031. The framework is this:
1. Identify YE share count.
2. Forecast future dividend rate.
2027 $1.12
2028 -2031 5% growth $1.18-$1.37
3. Assumes conservative price appreciation.
4. Reinvest 100% dividends
5. Challenge myself to accumulate 20 shares/month. About $8000/year. Next I need a plan to acquire $8000 with no paycheck.
I will track dividend and accumulation share count separately and in total.
If I come up with a creative way to buy shares while unemployed, I’ll share with everyone. Keep growing.
Outstanding! Ok in 2022 I mistakenly put $220 in my 401k after tax. As of yesterday it’s $447.32. Dollar wise insignificant but % wise wow! New investors take note. More important to be in the market than sitting on the sidelines. Didn’t plan for SCHD to take off in 2026. But sometimes good things happen by just being in the game. Learning so much from my experienced SCHD friends. Working on my future plans to accumulate. Have some ideas. These post are so encouraging. Must remember it’s a long game and although today is great, it’s only a paper gain. The finish line is further down the road. So excited to work on a solid growth plan. Boy did yesterday’s posts on goals give me further direction. I thought reinvesting dividends was all I could do. I limited myself. Thanks to you, Elvis and others I’m raising my bar for better chances of future success. Thank you!
@SCHDETF Yes. New record high! I really think today highlights your 3 biggest reasons to own SCHD. The screening criteria has to get the credit here. When I saw UNH added, I was like pretty beat up. Now I see the light!
@SCHDETF Craig this is the beauty of SCHD! The reconstitution identified this opportunity due to financial metrics. I didn’t see that. It acted and now we are rewarded. I think ABT posts today. Your dip buying on Tuesday is looking even better! Way to go!
If my math is right SCHD bought UNH on 3/20/26 for $275.99. At $446.90 now that is 61.9% up in 4 months! Love that reconstitution. No way I saw this coming but the SCHD criteria did!
@padron_elvis Wow. Elvis you are organized. Love the future plan. I need to put mine together. Getting my internet installed Friday. Can’t wait. Slowly getting settled in.
Also. With it 1000 degrees outside i have time to post. If it’s ever too much I trust you will let me know. I would hate to continue doing something not knowing it’s a bother. I learn from your feedback. Sometime the truth hurts but I need to know that. I’m really new to X. I only joined because of the SCHD stuff I’m learning. Might break off and post about my 65 Dart restoration. For 10 years this car sat. Now I’m literally 500 feet from it and it’s too hot to move. Patience Bill
@SCHDETF @padron_elvis @SCHDaccumulator guys. Finally upgraded to premium. Now I can post more. I’m still learning about x since Im an old Gen Xer.
When I graduated college in 1988, there was no internet. Computers were a joke. Floppy disks. Two drives. One for the operating system and one for software.
Oh did you want to print? Need another disk for that. I’m getting a message only first 280 characters will be visible. Need to figure this out.
Craig. I keep reminding my wife we must think long term.
I refuse to let a one day paper loss upset me. Instead I cheered on all who took advantage of the dip. Less than 24 later it’s back. I refuse to get upset. Wait a day and it could be better. Maybe need a week or year. One of you said dividend investing is a test of patience. So true.
