No. He was a No. 1 overall pick in a lackluster draft. That label, however, of being a No. 1 pick, will live with him forever. He needs more time and he needs to be judged as a regular player who can become a good NBA player instead of judged as a 1/1. The kid has talent.

JR Ritchie is the least of my worries in the Atlanta organization. He had 244.2 minor league innings and a 2.61 ERA at the time of his first promotion.

Ritchie is ready, and he will be fine.

Others, though, need to slow down.

The due diligence all teams have undeniably done on Bauer must provide more damning info to keep them from signing him. Knowing what I know, sure, I'd give him a shot. But it certainly seems like there is more to keep teams from signing him. There are likely other, better options, even if you have to spend trade capital to get it done.

@BillShanks woould you sign Trevor Bauer for the league minimum and give him a chance to see if this reclaimed project can really play in the MLB anymore? I don't think it is that much money. If it doesn't work out and he's a clubhouse issue you let him go.

The #Braves are now 8-7 in June, and they are LAST in baseball in runs scored this month with only 57 (3.8 runs per game). They were 6th in runs scored in May (139 - 4.96 per game) and 1st in runs scored in April (158 - 5.85 runs per game).
