@smerconish I fail to understand why we don’t utilize the disability community as part of the answer to the work or shortage. People with disabilities love and can work. Instead, we continue to allow workshops to pay them subminimum wage. Sometimes pennies per hour.
Every LGBTQ student, teacher, parent, nurse, astronaut, mechanic, soldier, etc in Florida is still LGBTQ. The governor can sign a bill making it illegal to acknowledge their existence, but he can’t make them disappear with a pen.
Love will always win, friends.
Onward.
“To advance economic security for Black disabled women and girls, policymakers must make intersectionality central to modernizing the social safety net and to dismantling the barriers that contribute to inequality.”
