African diaspora investment could be the single most powerful tool to accelerate the development of the African continent.
Here are 7 ways to understand the power of African diaspora investing:
The founders I appreciate most:
1. Forget perfection, they're real
2. Are authentic, that's their secret weapon
3. Embrace their unique life experiences, these are their badges of honor, symbols of challenges faced and overcome
This is a founder with humility
I recently had coffee with a successful VC who has been in the industry for over 2 decades and asked him for advice on investing in African startups.
His answers were shocking. Here's what he said:
"Africa's future lies in the hands of its entrepreneurs and innovators, who have the creativity and drive to transform the continent." - Strive Masiyiwa, Zimbabwean entrepreneur and philanthropist
